Good, Bad, and Ugly – A Matter of Conditioning
The world we live in revolves around three words: good,
bad, and ugly. These aren't just labels—we constantly measure
people, situations, and choices through them. But what if these labels are more
connected than we think?
Good and bad are two ends of the same stick. One cannot exist without the other. What’s good for one may be bad for another, and for some, completely neutral. Our conditioning—shaped by culture, religion, tradition, and personal experience—determines where we draw these lines.
Interestingly, good and bad feed off each other. Bad has given all the goodness to good and good has given all the badness to bad. Good defines itself by contrasting with bad, and vice versa. Without one, the other loses meaning. In truth, there’s only experience, perceived at different levels depending on who you are and where you stand.
What is really ugly is the constant judgement of something as good, bad and all the rest of it. The constant effort to analyze or justify these categories often leads to unrest. But true peace lies in acceptance—seeing things as they are, without judgment. Acceptance is beauty.
Accepting "what is" leads to silence. And silence, to peace
